The Details
This is for a new kind of kids book. What I am looking for is a siganture, Keith Haring-style astronaut character that can be developed further. It needs to strike a chord with kids between the ages of 9-to-13. The image/character should be a futuristic astronaut style. More Tank Girl; less NASA.
Since HUMANNAIRES is for pre-teens, the image/character must be "fit" and in shape, with big hands and feet, and mostly genderless. In fact, the book is already available at humannaires.com and lulu.com/content/567541. But it needs graphics. Something imaginative and fun.
So come up with a cartoony, superhero, androgynous Ben10 type illustration, something that can be put into space settings. You know how certain illustrations stick with you in particular books (Charlotte's Web; Chronicles of Narnia; Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas; Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy)? That's the sort of strong image/character that I am imagining.
The Reward: $50

Work is for pay; budget is for $1k-$2k; ($50-$100 per illustration)
Submission Guidelines:
- Maximum 1 illustration submissions per member.
- Images must be at least 200 pixels wide/high.
- Illustrations can be hand-drawn, vector line art, paintings, or mixed-media.
- File types allowed: JPG or PNG.
